Meet the Kivmans

A Warm Welcome from Our Home to Yours

Welcome! We're Rabbi Mendy and Rochy Kivman, and we're honored to serve the Jewish community of Greater Milford and MetroWest-South. We wanted to take a moment to share our story with you—and to invite you into ours.

In 2001, we arrived in Milford with a simple dream: to create a place where every Jew feels at home. A place where questions are welcomed, traditions come alive, friendships are formed, and Jewish life is celebrated with warmth, meaning, and joy. We didn't have a grand master plan or a big budget. We just had faith, a lot of hope, and a kitchen table.

More than two decades later, that dream has grown into something beautiful. Our community is now filled with people of all ages, backgrounds, levels of knowledge, and affiliations. Some come for a holiday celebration, some for a class, some for a Shabbat dinner, and some simply stop by for a cup of coffee and a conversation. No matter how someone arrives, they're family.

Rabbi Mendy grew up in Crown Heights, New York, the home of the worldwide Chabad-Lubavitch movement, where he studied at the Rebbe's Yeshiva. Rochy was raised in Marseille, France, helping her parents build and grow their local Chabad center. Together, we've dedicated our lives to sharing the beauty, wisdom, and joy of Judaism with others. We're blessed with six children, wonderful grandchildren, and a home that's rarely quiet and never boring.

At Chabad House Jewish Center, you'll find a place for every part of your Jewish journey. We host holiday celebrations that fill the soul, Shabbat dinners that warm the heart, Torah classes that spark curiosity, Hebrew School for the kids, youth programs, community events, senior outreach, hospital visitation, and prison chaplaincy services. We're here for the big moments and the quiet ones, for celebrations and for times of struggle.

But here's the most important thing: there are no membership dues, no prior knowledge required, and no experience necessary. Our community is built and sustained by people who believe in creating a Jewish home that is open to everyone. Whether you're looking to learn, celebrate, connect, or simply explore, we'd love to meet you.

Our door is open, our coffee is hot, and there's always room for one more at the table.

We hope to welcome you soon.

Rabbi Mendy & Rochy Kivman

P.S. Chabad House is built by the community, for the community. We receive no funding from any central organization. Everything we do is made possible by local individuals and families who believe that every Jew deserves a warm, welcoming place to connect, celebrate, and grow.

In other words, this isn't our Chabad House—it's yours.
