Former Friends star Lisa Kudrow (who played Phoebe), appearing on the Conan O’Brian Show on Wednesday, detailed her son’s recent “drive-by bar mitzvah” in a Los Angeles mall—courtesy of a Chabad House.
The impromptu bar mitzvah for Kudrow’s 16-year-old son, (who never had a bar mitzvah at the traditional age of 13) is a result of Rebbe’s nearly 50-year-old “Tefillin Campaign,” in which Chabad members offer Jews anywhere (even in a mall) the opportunity to don tefillin if they had not already done so that day.
