10/10. When I lived in South Africa for 62 years, we always called a challah "kitke" and after the Shabbat morning service in Shul or on a Jewish holiday, we enjoyed a brocha. Now that I live in Canada, it is a challah and a kiddush. Reply

P.s. What a “Lag” used above, pronounced lach, is Afrikaans for “that’s so funny!” Also commonly used by us SA Jews. Reply
