What is Pesach?

The eight-day festival of Passover is celebrated in the early spring, from 15-22 of the Hebrew month of Nissan. In 2020 it begins on the evening of April 8 through April 16. Passover commemorates the liberation of the Jewish People from Egyptian slavery. Pesach is observed by avoiding leaven (breads, cakes, pastas etc.), and highlighted by the Seder meals that include four cups of wine, eating matzah and bitter herbs, and retelling the story of the Exodus
